The City of Chicago has issued a renovation permit for reconstruction of the CTA’s Austin Green Line elevated platform. John Burns Construction Company, the firm that completed the new Peterson Ridge Metra station last summer, is named as the general contractor. Design work was performed by Epstein.
Plans have been revealed for the upcoming condo-hotel project at 2020 S Archer Avenue in Chinatown. Located on the intersection with S Clark Street, the project is being led by Century 21 Realty Associates along with HMC Realty & Management, who are also behind a 2023 development dubbed The Clark just down the street at 2116 S Clark Street.
The first pre-cast concrete panels have been erected for the forthcoming TimeLine Theatre at 5035 North Broadway in Uptown. General Contractor Bulley Andrews began the installation work in mid-March at the front of the site. As progress proceeds, the newly-built portion will to connect to the five-story remainder of the former W. C. Reebie and Brother storage building.
A permit was issued by the City of Chicago on March 19 to allow for the construction of a residential building at 1107 West Vernon Park Place in Little Italy. After waiting just a month following their application date of February 18, developer and general contractor GlobalGC Inc can get started on the four-story structure with basement that will contain three dwelling units, likely to be a pair of duplex condos and one simplex condominium.
Construction has begun on the residential development at 2234 West Grand Avenue in West Town. A demolition permit was issued for the Rainbow Art, Inc building previously on the site in late February. It was torn down very quickly, allowing developer and general contractor Panoptic Group to get started on foundation work. Construction approval was received on March 7, at a reported build cost of $6.5 million.
