Initial details have been revealed for the new home of Chicago Fire FC within The 78. Located on the northern half of the site, the stadium will create a permanent home for the team, which relocated to Soldier Field from Bridgeview in recent years. Efforts for the mixed-use development are being led by the team’s owner, Joe Mansueto, and Related Midwest.
A single-family residence at 1847 North Mohawk Street in Lincoln Park has been purchased by a developer, and a demolition permit has been issued to knock it down. The three-story home, sold in April for $2.1 million, was built in 1988. The permit to raze the structure and its detached frame garage was issued on June 2nd, with the Carlos Group named as the demolition contractor.
Updated details have been revealed for the hotel development at 150 W Hubbard Street in River North. Located at the corner of West Hubbard Street and North LaSalle Drive, the project has undergone multiple iterations over the years, with various hotel flags previously attached. Most recently, YIMBY reported when Detroit-based developer Porritt Group applied for initial construction permits a year ago.
The new construction permit has been issued by the City of Chicago to replace a home demolished in February at 3739 North Clifton Avenue in Wrigleyville. An application to build was filed by property owner United Chicago Builders in January, a month before the original building was torn down, with the permit coming through four months later on May 27. It cites a reported construction cost of $850,000.
The first phase of Fullerton Pointe has topped out and is getting its brick on at 519 West Fullerton Parkway in Lincoln Park. Scaffolding and wrap shroud the front façade in mystery as masonry work is applied, but you can catch a glimpse of what it will look like on the building’s east wall. At the rear of the property, masonry work is ongoing to form the garage, which will contain eight parking stalls and will be topped by a roof deck.
