Last week, Precision Excavation began demolishing the two-story mixed-use brick building at 4634 N Western Avenue in Lincoln Square, clearing the way for a residential development to begin construction. The new project by the Macon Construction Group has been approved, though not yet permitted, and will see a new six-story building link to the existing four-story structure at 4642 N Western Avenue.
Demolition work has begun on the small blue house at 840 West Lill Avenue in Lincoln Park. Demo contractor Carlos Group is carrying out instructions on a permit issued July 9 to tear down the two-story frame residence and detached garage.

While many properties sit vacant with active demolition permits unattended to, this one took less than a week to meet its proverbial wrecking ball.
The Centennial Forum, at 1125 W Loyola Avenue on the Loyola University Chicago campus in Rogers Park, is currently being demolished. We first visited the site back in May just as demo preparation got underway, and now the two-story concrete structure is about halfway torn down. That’s all the work of American Demolition, which received a demo permit from the City of Chicago on May 23.
