Demolition Of 514 West Aldine Avenue In Lake View Clears Site For Four Residential Units

A demolition permit was issued on December 12 by the City of Chicago for the property located at 514 West Aldine Avenue in the Lake View neighborhood. With Land Enterprises as the demo contractor and Urban Edge Group as the property owner, the site will be cleared to make room for a new four-story, four-unit residential building. The lot is located mid-block between Lake Shore Drive to the east and Broadway to the west.

Decades-Old Building Being Replaced In Lincoln Park Is Down To Its Foundation

Demolition work at 2125 North Racine Avenue in Lincoln Park has laid waste to all but the foundation of the former multi-residence building here. Soon to be replaced by a new three-story two-flat development, the masonry structure received a demolition permit on November 21 of this year, with Builder Luxury assigned the task of razing the building.

Demolition permits are in place for two properties in Edison Park in anticipation of a new residential development along North Northwest Highway. Two buildings that comprised the former M.J. Suerth Funeral Home, at 6750 and 6752 North Northwest Highway, received demo permits from the City of Chicago on October 24.

Update On Demolition For TimeLine Theatre at 5035 North Broadway in Uptown

Partial demolition of the former W. C. Reebie and Brother storage building at 5035 North Broadway in Uptown has left only the rearmost portion of the structure still standing. The gutted skeleton of the five-floor building is all that remains, and even that has gaping holes in the roof and back wall, exposing it to the sky. What remains of this partial demo will be used as office spaces and to anchor the forthcoming development.

Very Little Remains, As 1130 South Wabash Yields To The Wrecking Ball

1130 South Wabash Avenue in the South Loop is close to being completely demolished. All five levels, and the basement, are still visible, but only at the rear of the structure. The rest has been reduced to rubble and piles of scrap.

At 3456 North Claremont Avenue in North Center, a two-unit frame residence has been surrounded by demolition fencing, after having just been sold this summer. According to real estate website Zillow, the home, built in 1892, sold in September for $625,000.

Fox Deluxe Demolition Is Complete For 370 North Morgan

The former Fox Deluxe Foods building has been demolished at 370 North Morgan Street in the Fulton Market District. That clears the way for developer Vista Property Group to get started on the 32-story 370 North Morgan. They don’t plan to break ground until the first quarter of 2025 though, so expect to see this lot vacant for a couple months before activity flares up again.

Demolition Permit Issued For Our Lady Of Fatima Church At 3051 North Christiana Avenue In Avondale

A demolition permit has been issued to tear down Our Lady of Fatima Church at 3051 North Christiana Avenue in the Avondale neighborhood. The City of Chicago issued the permit Monday, October 28. So far, there are no signs of demo preparation at the church. Built in 1956, it was initially part of St. Hyacinth Basilica, located about half a mile west on Wolfram Street.

Demolition Underway At 1317 West Wrightwood Avenue In Lincoln Park

Demolition is underway on an 1870s-era multi-residence at 1317 West Wrightwood Avenue in Lincoln Park. A new permit issued by the City of Chicago back in January of this year allows for the construction of a four-story with basement, four-unit building on the site.
