The permit’s owner has been filed under the name Sustainabuild LLC. A permit was issued in late August for a two-story single-family residence with a basement. New plans for a fully affordable residential development at 1805 N Hamlin Avenue in Logan Square have been presented to the Committee on Design. Being developed by the Latin United Community Housing Association (LUCHA) and partially designed by Canopy Architecture with the Site Design Group, the new complex replaces an industrial lot being remediated by the city. The site, bought by the city in 2019 and donated to the developer, is bound by N Hamlin Avenue to the west, W Cortland Street to the north, and N Ridgeway Avenue to the east.

The unique lot which is surrounded by alleys on all three sides is wedged between a multi-story courtyard building to the north, and a one-story Social Security office building to the south where N Sawyer Avenue meets W Fullerton Avenue. Final siding work has kicked off for DG Advisors Group’s 2633 N Emmett Street, a three-story residential building situated in Logan Square. With four total units, the development comes with a rooftop deck and stair enclosure, front and rear decks on the first and second floors, and a detached four-car garage with its own rooftop deck. This new structure has replaced a two-story frame residence and detached garage, which received demolition permits this past April.
