Three permits issued over a two-day period signal the beginning of a new multi-unit residence at 1830 North St Louis Avenue in Logan Square. Permission was granted on Tuesday, July 29 to build a two-story plus basement, two-unit building where a home and coach house stand now. A day later, on the 30th, demolition permits were granted for both of those structures.
A demolition permit has been issued to tear down the original Redhot Ranch grill at 2072 North Western Avenue in the northwest side’s Logan Square neighborhood. B & K 1 Concrete will handle the removal, with the permit citing a reported demolition cost of $8,240.
On June 23, the City of Chicago issued a permit allowing the Latin United Community Housing Association (LUCHA) to convert the sanctuary of the Humboldt Park United Methodist Church in Logan Square into residential units. The permit was submitted for approval back in December 2022, and it came through showing a reported construction cost just under $8.7 million.
Details have been revealed for the residential development at 1805 N Campbell Avenue in Logan Square. The large rectangular lot slated for redevelopment is currently occupied by a single-family home and its expansive yard, adjacent to the 606 trail. A new development team is leading the project after previous efforts fizzled out last year.
Initial details have been revealed for a mixed-use development at 2240 N Milwaukee Avenue in Logan Square. Located at the intersection with W Prindiville Street, the proposal would replace a vacant lot across the street from Victory Grill. The project is being led by local developer Kiferbaum Development Group, which recently purchased the site for $1.5 million.
