Initial Plans Revealed For ComEd Redevelopment Of 333 S LaSalle Street In The Loop

ComEd has announced plans to redevelop the existing trading building at 333 S LaSalle Street in The Loop. Located on the corner with W Van Buren Street, the low-rise building is adjacent to the Board of Trade tower and for many years held the last open-outcry trading pits in Chicago. The purchase, which was finalized in November, marks the end of a long history for in-person trading that helped power the local economy, which now relies on virtual operations.

300 N Michigan Avenue Wraps Up Glass Installation as Countdown’s Eighth-Place Entry

At eighth place in Chicago YIMBY’s year-end countdown is 300 N Michigan Avenue, a 47-story mixed-use skyscraper developed by Sterling Bay at the northeast corner of The Loop. Rising 523 feet to its pinnacle, this nearly complete tower will house retail within its podium, a hotel on floors six to 15, and apartments on the 17th through 46th floors. The hotel portion will be a 280-key CitizenM, while the residential portion, dubbed “Millie on Michigan” will yield a total of 289 rental units.

Facade Encloses Top of 300 N Michigan Skyscraper in The Loop

Since YIMBY’s September update, glass has steadily enclosed most of the remaining floors at 300 N Michigan Avenue, a 47-story skyscraper that recently topped out in the northeast corner of The Loop. Developers Magellan Development Group and Sterling Bay have planned a mix of retail in the base, a 280-key CitizenM hotel on the sixth through 15th floors, and residential apartments on the 17th through 45th floors.
