JPMorgan Chase has announced plans to renovate its 60-story Chicago headquarters in The Loop. Located at 10 S Dearborn Street, the 850-foot office tower will undergo a complete renovation from its plaza level to all of its floors. There will also be an added fitness center along with other amenity spaces.
The Zoning Board of Appeals has approved three variances for a new mixed-use development at 4640 N Western Avenue in Lincoln Square. This $26.7 million initiative developed by Macon Construction and designed by Hirsch MPG will involve a new six-story mixed-use building alongside the renovation of a 1920s-era, four-story building to the north. There will be a total 74 residential units and 3,900 square feet of retail space on the ground floor.
Construction is wrapping up for a renovation and addition at 3615 North Wilton Avenue in Lake View. The project involves converting the existing residential structure, which previously comprised three residential units, into a five-unit edifice. This expansion includes creating a new residence in the basement and another with the construction of an additional floor, bringing the final height to four stories. The plans feature a rooftop deck, a north-facing metal porch, and a three-vehicle garage with a rooftop terrace.
With a full renovation permit now issued, Vienna Beef has kicked off a major new initiative at 2501 N Damen Avenue in Bucktown. Unofficially listed as 2409 N Elston Avenue in the permit, the $20 million redevelopment project will revamp the site the company had occupied for over 40 years before its closure in 2020. Previously, there were failed plans to replace the property with a Drive Shack driving range.
Facade work is progressing toward completion at the former Sears store located at 4712 W Irving Park Road in Portage Park. The location is undergoing a transformation into a $90 million, six-story mixed-use development. Spearheaded by Novak Construction, in dual roles as developer and general contractor, the redevelopment work will yield 50,000 square feet of retail space and 206 residential units, with Target confirmed as the anchor retail tenant.
