Designers Selected For DuSable Park In Streeterville

The Chicago Park District has selected the design firms to proceed with the design of the long-stalled DuSable Park at 401 N DuSable Lake Shore Drive in Streeterville. Located just east of the drive adjacent to the site that was to house the Chicago Spire, the project is moving forward with the Park District selecting a joint venture between Ross Barney Architects and Brook Architecture to work on the design of the 3.5-acre park.

City Council Approves Funds For Roosevelt Square In Near West Side

The Chicago City Council has approved the financing and land-sale for the Roosevelt Square Phase 3B mixed-use development in the Near West Side. Located across multiple parcels mainly around W Taylor Street and W Roosevelt Road, the project is part of the greater Roosevelt Square Plan that includes the rehabilitation of existing apartments, construction of new housing, and a new National Public Housing Museum. The effort is being led by Related Midwest and the Chicago Housing Authority along with various local design firms.

Updates On City Casino Bids As Selection Looms

As the city progresses towards selecting a winner of the highly-scrutinized casino deal, more renderings and information have been revealed on the complexities of utilizing some of the city’s existing structures. The five bids submitted to the city last year span from near Goose Island to McCormick Place, come from three companies with hopes to create a gambling, dining, entertainment, and lodging destination that is unique to Chicago’s urban fabric. 900 Randolph Breaks Ground As The Ninth Tallest Development In 2021 Countdown

Coming in at ninth place in Chicago YIMBY’s year-end countdown is 900 Randolph in the Fulton Market District. The mixed-use tower marks what is the first of many coming skyscrapers in the neighborhood that will redefine the city skyline and largely expand it west, the structure itself will top out at 495 feet tall, far above anything surrounding it. Developer Related Midwest selected the acclaimed New York-based firm Morris Adjmi Architects for the industrial-style building directly north of famed restaurant row.
