Having reached its full height of six stories, the ongoing construction at 1257 W Roosevelt Road in Little Italy represents a collaborative effort between Related Midwest and the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA). This residential project forms part of the larger Roosevelt Square Phase 3B development, which features a variety of housing options, retail spaces, and the soon-to-open National Museum of Public Housing. The Roosevelt Square masterplan aims to offer a total of 2,441 housing units, including both multifamily and single-family structures.

The Chicago White Sox are reportedly in discussions with Mayor Brandon Johnson and developer Related Midwest over a potential new baseball stadium within ‘The 78’, a 62-acre mixed-use development project in South Loop. The long-underdeveloped plot has undergone multiple iterations in recent years for a sprawling new neighborhood with residential and office buildings, public spaces such as parks and promenades, and most recently the University of Illinois’ Discovery Partners Institute, with its construction expected to begin this year.

Tower Crane Permit Issued for 400 N Lake Shore Drive As Financing Is Secured

Financing has been secured and the tower crane permit has now been issued for the first phase of 400 N Lake Shore Drive in Streeterville. The project was originally revealed in 2018 and has seen multiple revisions prior to now, with the new tower replacing the long-term vacant site and hole left behind by the Chicago Spire. The two-phase development is being led by Related Midwest with architecture-firm SOM working on its design.
