868 N Wells Street Sprouts up in Near North Side

Structural work has passed the seventh floor for the 27-story 868 N Wells Street in Near North Side, replacing a former low-rise brick building that was demolished last year. The developer of this mixed-use high rise is JDL, who has planned for 411 units and 12,000 square feet of retail. This tower is the second addition (after the adjacent 920 N Wells) to their North Union megadevelopment, a sprawling $1.3 billion master plan that will ultimately occupy 2.9 million square feet of space. The larger North Union assemblage will feature skyscrapers measuring up to approximately 700 feet in height while providing a total of 2,656 residences, extensive commercial and retail options, and 100,000 square feet of public areas.

Facade Work Makes Headway at Northwestern Medicine Outpatient Center in Old Irving Park

Northwestern Medicine‘s Advanced Outpatient Care Center is making significant progress in Old Irving Park, with facade work underway. Located at 4445 W Irving Park Road, the four-story structure occupies a full city block bordered by W Irving Park Road, N Kenneth Avenue, and N Kilbourn Avenue. The 160,000-square-foot facility is set to offer a variety of outpatient services, including cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, imaging, immediate care, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, physical therapy, primary care, and urology.

920 N Wells Nears Completion in Near North Side

Glass and metal installation is now wrapping up for the 21-story 920 N Wells Street in Near North Side. Developed by JDL as part of the massive North Union megadevelopment, this primarily residential mixed-use building is the first step in what will be a $1.3 billion master plan covering several blocks of land previously owned by the Moody Bible Institute.

1101 W Van Buren Reaches Second Floor in West Loop

Structural work has reached the second level for a new 21-story mixed-use building known as “Coppia,” located at 1101 W Van Buren Street. Developed by Pizzuti Development, this latest West Loop project will stand between two existing apartment buildings, replacing a previously vacant site. The new addition to the area will yield 298 apartment units and contain ground-floor retail.

First Floor Rises for Evanston Labs in Evanston

Structural work is now above ground for a new Class A office and laboratory building is coming to Evanston, situated at 710 Clark Street across from the Northwestern University campus. Evanston Labs, developed by Trammell Crow Company, will offer a high-tech environment for companies in fields such as biomedicine, nanotechnology, and neuroscience.

Wendelin Park Nears Completion in Near North Side

Construction on Wendelin Park (formerly known as The Shops at Big Deahl) Phase 2 in Near North Side is nearing its final stages, as Structured Development’s four-building, $250 million project wraps up exterior facade and landscape work. The first phase of the GREC Architects-designed masterplan, a three-story climbing gym called Movement Lincoln Park, is located at the easternmost end of the property. Meanwhile, this nearly-complete second phase is comprised of a small park and three buildings standing 27, 10, and five stories tall.

Mixed-Use Low-Rise at 151 N Michigan Avenue Continues in New Eastside

Structural work is well underway, with the elevator core reaching its full height at the new commercial development at 151 N Michigan Avenue in New Eastside. BJB Partners has been steadily progressing in the construction of this project, which will replace a former single-story restaurant and offer a total of 15,000 square feet of commercial space. The ground floor is set to include 5,300 square feet of retail space, divided into two or three commercial units based on demand.

Full Permit Issued for 1114 W Carroll Avenue in Fulton Market

A ful building permit has now been issued for 1114 W Carroll Avenue, a 34-story mixed-use high rise in Fulton Market. The 379-foot project is being developed by Trammell Crow Company and will replace a former truck rental center and parking lot at the corner of Carroll Avenue and May Street. The site is located adjacently north of 315 N May Street, a 410-foot, primarily office tower that is expected to break ground this year.

360 N Green Street’s Core Nears Full Height in Fulton Market

The core of 360 N Green Street, a 24-story mixed-use tower in Fulton Market, is nearing its final height of 399 feet. The project is being developed by Sterling Bay, which also owns several other properties in the area, including the nearby Guinness Brewery. The tower has been designed by Gensler and will feature approximately 500,000 square feet of office, retail, and amenity spaces.

Construction Nears Full Height for 210 N Aberdeen Street in Fulton Market

Construction is nearing full height for a 19-story mixed-use building at 210 N Aberdeen Street in Fulton Market. Developed by LG Development Group, this structure will feature 10,700 square feet of retail space and 363 apartment units.
