The mixed-use development known as “Coppia” at 1101 W Van Buren Street has achieved construction progress up to its seventh floor out of its planned 19 stories. This West Loop project from Pizzuti Development is positioned between two existing residential high rises, filling a formerly vacant site.
Updated details have been revealed for an upcoming data center at 1951 W Hastings Street in the Illinois Medical District. Located on the intersection with S Damen Avenue just north of the massive Union Pacific railyard, the new facility joins a similar proposal in McCormick Place that was also recently announced as Chicago continues to draw in similar projects. The new center is being developed by Chicago-based Metro Edge with architecture firm Corgan at the helm of its design.
Demolition has cleared the way for the new Harper Court Phase 2 at 5209 S Harper Avenue in Hyde Park, developed by The University of Chicago in partnership with Trammell Crow and Beacon Capital Partners. The 13-story mixed-use construction will comprise of retail and a new medical research office facility with nearly 300,000 square feet of lab space, one-sixth of which will be occupied by The University of Chicago. The project site is situated just west of the railroad tracks, with E 52nd Street to the north, S Lake Park Avenue to the east, E 53rd Street to the south, and S Harper Avenue to the west.
Located in the Near West Side neighborhood along Union Park, the structure and outer walls for 140 N Ashland Avenue have now reached their full height. This 12-story mixed-use building planned by developer Marquette Companies will integrate with a 1920s era, five-story brick structure on its southern side. Once complete, the complex will feature 210 apartment units above ground-level retail spaces.
The Lydian, a 22-story high rise at 513 S Damen Avenue in the Illinois Medical District, has now opened to residents. This is the second phase of a three-building complex spearheaded by Marquette Companies and managed by Power Construction as the general contractor.
