A demolition permit was issued last week to remove a three-story masonry residence located at 1844 N Maud Avenue in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. The permit’s owner has been listed as 1840-44 N Maud LLC. Plans have been submitted for a three-story single-family residence with a basement. The structure will have a rooftop deck, a rear deck, and an attached two-car garage at the rear. This garage will also have its own rooftop deck.
This month a special exhibit will be available in Lincoln Park to curious Chicagoans. The Wrightwood 659 is presenting Romanticism to Ruin: Two Lost Works of Sullivan & Wright. This is a unique opportunity to view a dual exhibition that highlights two long-gone masterpieces: Louis H. Sullivan’s innovative Garrick Theatre in Chicago and Frank Lloyd Wright’s unprecedented Larkin Building, in Buffalo, New York.
Since YIMBY’s October update, construction has added another floor of a four-story mixed-use development at 2317 N Clark Street in Lincoln Park. Developer 2300 N Clark LLC is planning for 2,228 square feet of ground-level retail with 73 feet of frontage and windows also along the alley.
Structural work can be seen rising for the new six-story addition at Edith Spurlock Apartments in Lincoln Park. This new 85-foot-tall structure will be nestled between the complex’s two existing buildings, which are undergoing renovation as part of the development. Residing under the address 2700 N Sheffield Avenue, the added segment will provide an additional 80 residential units. The existing structures will also add 11 new units as part of the renovations. Altogether, there will be 485 apartments on the Edith Spurlock Apartment Grounds once all the work is complete. The Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) and Pirhl are co-developers behind the construction and renovation efforts, while RATIO is the architect.

As of now, no plans appear to have been submitted to upgrade any of the zoning designations for this property and there is currently no information on any future constructions at the site.
