A construction permit has been issued for a new residential building at 1018 W Altgeld Street in Lincoln Park. The planned development will be three-story structure housing two residential units, complete with a basement level, a roof deck, rear 1st and 2nd-floor porches, rear three-story stairs, an elevated rear patio, and a rear two-car garage with a roof deck.
The new construction will replace a two-story frame residence. The Alverna Group LLC is the owner of this project, with Vari Architects as the listed architect.
Regarding public transportation, the site is close to several bus lines, the closest of which are Routes 8 and 74 both within a five-minute walk. The nearest access point for the Brown, Purple, and Red CTA lines is Fullerton Station, a five-minute walk southeast.
Desmond Builders is overseeing the construction, with a projected budget of $495,000.
