Demolition is nearly complete of a masonry multi-residence building at 2034 North Racine Avenue in Lincoln Park. That clears the way for developer Real View Design and Development to erect a two-unit residential project on the site. A pending permit with the City of Chicago, applied for on May 31, calls for a three-story structure with a basement and a detached two-car garage. Each dwelling unit will have a rear-facing terrace, while the garage will be topped by a roof deck.

A steel framework is forming inside the shell of the Second Church of Christ, Scientist in Lincoln Park. That’s where Ogden Partners is developing a six-story building containing 22 three-bedroom units while saving the west, south, and east façades of the 120-year-old church. The church, at 2700 North Pine Grove Avenue, has been holding its services and meetings on Zoom, but will occupy 4,700 square feet of ground-floor space in the new building upon its completion.

The City of Chicago has issued a new construction permit for the property at 2702 North Greenview Avenue in Lincoln Park. The space currently is a greenery-filled side yard, likely belonging to the home next door at 2700 North Greenview before the empty lot was sold, with a concrete slab for parking still at the rear of the property. There are no permits for this address in the Chicago Data Portal dating back to 2006, so it looks like this lot has been empty for a good while. There is also no indication to date that the home at 2700 will be demolished as part of this development.
