Demolition of 2034 North Racine Avenue opens the door for two new units in Lincoln Park

Demolition is nearly complete of a masonry multi-residence building at 2034 North Racine Avenue in Lincoln Park. That clears the way for developer Real View Design and Development to erect a two-unit residential project on the site. A pending permit with the City of Chicago, applied for on May 31, calls for a three-story structure with a basement and a detached two-car garage. Each dwelling unit will have a rear-facing terrace, while the garage will be topped by a roof deck.

Steel endoskeleton begins to form at Second Church of Christ, Scientist renovation in Lincoln Park

A steel framework is forming inside the shell of the Second Church of Christ, Scientist in Lincoln Park. That’s where Ogden Partners is developing a six-story building containing 22 three-bedroom units while saving the west, south, and east façades of the 120-year-old church. The church, at 2700 North Pine Grove Avenue, has been holding its services and meetings on Zoom, but will occupy 4,700 square feet of ground-floor space in the new building upon its completion.

New construction permit issued 2702 North Greenview Avenue

Permit issued to build three-story residential building on side yard in Lincoln Park

The City of Chicago has issued a new construction permit for the property at 2702 North Greenview Avenue in Lincoln Park. The space currently is a greenery-filled side yard, likely belonging to the home next door at 2700 North Greenview before the empty lot was sold, with a concrete slab for parking still at the rear of the property. There are no permits for this address in the Chicago Data Portal dating back to 2006, so it looks like this lot has been empty for a good while. There is also no indication to date that the home at 2700 will be demolished as part of this development.

New construction permit issued for newly-demolished site at 2635 North Bosworth

2633 North Bosworth Avenue demolition is almost complete, clearing the way for a new residential construction project in Lincoln Park. Assigned to the address of 2635 North Bosworth, the new building will contain three condominium units within a three-story with basement structure. The new permit was issued August 12, 2024.

Condos at 642 West Webster Avenue in Lincoln Park aim for November delivery

Construction is progressing on a four-story condominium development at 642 West Webster Avenue in Lincoln Park. The permit issued by the City of Chicago on September 29 of last year calls for three condo units in the building, which sits directly across the street from Oz Park.

Three-unit condo development replacing 1890s-era single-family home at 2218 North Burling Street

A new four-story with basement residential building has reached its ultimate height at 2218 North Burling Street in Lincoln Park. The three-unit condominium building is being constructed by Promised Land Development, who are both the general contractor and developer. They’re making great progress; this was still undergoing foundation work when we snuck a peek in May.

City Council Approves Mixed-Use Development At 2033 N Kingsbury Avenue In Lincoln Park

The Chicago City Council has approved the mixed-use development 2033 N Kingsbury Avenue in Lincoln Park. Located on the eastern edge of Lincoln Yards right off of N Clybourn Avenue, the project will replace a vacant lot bound by curved railroad tracks to the south. Like other developments in the area, the project is being led by Sterling Bay.

Fast transition at 840 West Lill Avenue, as foundation work takes over for demolition

Just two weeks after we saw demolition work getting started at 840 West Lill Avenue in Lincoln Park, foundation work for the new building has already begun at the site. Built in 1860 and apparently torn down in about the same number of minutes, the old edifice gives way to the new 1840 West Lill, a three-story with basement, two-unit luxury condominium building designed by Michael Cox and Associates and developed by Pro-Homes.

Three-story building at 919 West Belden Avenue will deliver two condos in February 2025

Construction work continues at 919 West Belden Avenue in Lincoln Park for a two-unit condo building. The Halcyon Development Group effort will offer a duplex-down on the first floor and basement, and a duplex-up on the second and third floor.

Three condominium units underway at 855 West Lill Avenue in Lincoln Park

A three-story, three-unit condominium development is underway at 855 West Lill Avenue in the Sheffield Neighbors neighborhood of Lincoln Park. The building, which will include a basement, replaces a three-story greystone home that was built in 1890 and demolished in May.
