Plan Commission Approves Two-Tower Mixed-Use Development at 601 W Monroe Street in West Loop Gate

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved a two-tower proposed mixed-use development located at 601 W Monroe Street in West Loop Gate. Located on a rectangular lot, the site sits along W Monroe Street, spanning the entire width of the block from S Jefferson Street to S Desplaines Street. Currently a surface parking lot, the parcel is directly adjacent to Heritage Green Park. Pacific Reach Properties is the developer behind the proposal.

Plan Commission Approves Halsted Pointe Development at 901 N Halsted Street in Goose Island

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved Halsted Pointe, a multi-phase development at 901 N Halsted Street in Goose Island. Planned for the site of the current Greyhound Bus facility, the project site is located at the southern tip of Goose Island. The property is bound by N Halsted Street to the west, W Hooker Street to the north and the Chicago River to the south and east. Onni Group is the developer.

ZBA Approves Residential Development at 3817 N Ashland Avenue in Lake View

The Zoning Board of Appeals has approved a residential development at 3817 N Ashland Avenue in Lake View. Located along N Ashland Avenue, the site is bordered by alleyways to the south and east. A one-story restaurant building currently occupies the site, which is for sale by the owner. Mavrek Development is the developer behind the proposal.

Community Development Commission Approves Supportive Housing Development at 3346 W Carroll Avenue in East Garfield Park

The Community Development Commission has approved a supportive housing development located at 3346 W Carroll Avenue in East Garfield Park. Currently a vacant lot, the project site is an infill site along W Carroll Avenue, just off of N Homan Avenue. The property backs up to the westbound Metra tracks. Breakthrough Urban Ministries, a local nonprofit organization, will be developing the building.

Plan Commission Poised to Approve Mixed-Use Development at 1400 S Wabash Avenue in South Loop

The Chicago Plan Commission will review a proposed mixed-use development located at 1400 S Wabash Avenue in the South Loop. The is bounded by S Wabash Avenue to the east, a seven-story building to the south, the CTA L tracks to the west, and a four-story building and surface parking lot to the north. Currency a vacant surface parking lot, the property includes an easement from where 14th Street used to cut through it. The developer behind the proposal is CMK Companies.

The Commission on Chicago Landmarks has approved the final landmark recommendation for the Monastery of the Holy Cross at 3101 S Aberdeen Street in Bridgeport. Located at the intersection of W 31st Street and S Aberdeen Street, the church structure was formerly the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Final Landmark Recommendation Approved for Muddy Waters House in North Kenwood

The Commission on Chicago Landmarks has approved the final landmark recommendation for the Muddy Waters House at 4339 S Lake Park Avenue in North Kenwood. Built in 1891, the brick two-flat sits on a traditional Chicago residential lot and is placed midblock between E 43rd Street and E 44th Street.

Committee on Design Launches with Review of Development at 1112 W Carroll Avenue and 315 N May Street in West Loop

The Committee on Design has been launched with the review of a proposed mixed-use development at 1112 W Carroll Avenue and 315 N May Street in the West Loop. The committee is a group of volunteers that will review projects early in the Department of Planning and Development (DPD) review process. Recommendations will be non-binding and will be incorporated into the DPD internal review process.

The Chicago City Council has approved city financing for an affordable housing development located at 2008 S Ashland Avenue in Pilsen. Located on an infill site, the property sits midblock between W Cullerton Street and W 21st Street, fronting S Ashland Avenue. The Resurrection Project is the developer behind the project.

The project site is bound by N Marine Drive to the east, W Wilson Avenue to the south, N Clarendon Avenue to the west, and Weiss Hospital parking to the north. The property is currently a surface parking lot owned by Weiss Hospital. The developer behind the proposition is Lincoln Property Company.
