Chicago’s City Council has approved the financial framework for the second phase of the 43 Green development, a 10-story mixed-use development adjacent to the 43rd CTA Green Line station in Bronzeville. Positioned at 4309 S Prairie Avenue, the undertaking is to be located just west of the station, directly across from the first phase that was positioned on the east side of the tracks.

Located just north of the intersection with E 51st Street, the project is part of a 2021 Invest South/West RFP and has been in the works since YIMBY first reported on it in early 2022. The Chicago City Council has approved the residential development at 4642 N Magnolia Avenue in Uptown. Located just south of the intersection with W Leland Avenue near the St. Boniface Cemetery, the project will sit on a lot that has sat vacant since 2014 when the previous house on it was demolished. Now developer Finan Development Corp is moving forward with their plans designed by local-firm Laszlo Simovic Architects.

The Chicago City Council has approved the residential development at 453-455 W Briar Place in Lake View East. Located on a quiet one-way street near the intersection with N Broadway, the building will replace a pair of single-family homes built in the early 1900s. News on the project broke back in December as it brought in a unique design language not often seen in newer developments, this was led by SGW Architecture who is contracted by the site’s developer GVP Development.

City Council Approves Residential Conversion At 1600 S Laflin Street In Pilsen

The Chicago City Council has approved the residential conversion of the industrial building at 1600 S Laflin Street in Pilsen. Located on the southwest corner with W 16th Street next to rail lines famous for the street art along their base, the project will revitalize the vacant foundry structure that stretches almost the full length of the block. Chicago-based developer RP Fox and Associates is leading the proposal along with Mayer Jeffers Gillespie Architects working on its design.
