Bally’s Reveals Updated Renderings For Upcoming Casino

Updated renderings have been revealed for the upcoming Bally’s casino at 777 W Chicago Avenue in River West. Located on the corner with N Halsted Street and replacing the Chicago Tribune printing facility on the site, the casino has received a partial redesign which mainly changed the exterior but leaves the previously proposed interior the same. Rhode Island-based Bally’s is leading the charge for their new flagship property with multiple firms working on its design including SCB, Gensler, Site Design Group, Urbanworks, STL Architects, and NIA Architects among others.

Ribbon Cutting Held For New Park District HQ In Brighton Park

A ribbon-cutting ceremony has been held for the new headquarters of the Chicago Park District and its adjoining park at 4830 S Western Avenue in Brighton Park. Bounded by W 48th Street to the north, the CTA Orange Line to the south, and S Rockwell Street to the west, the expansive multi-block site used to be vacant land after holding multiple manufacturing businesses before. Now the Park District will move its nearly 200 employees from its current offices at 541 N Fairbanks Court in Streeterville.

Plan Commission Approves Jackson Park Improvements

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved new improvements to the east end of the Midway Plaisance at 5950 S Stony Island Avenue in Hyde Park. This small portion of the park is now within Jackson Park due to the Obama Center construction, with the redesigned Women’s Garden on the east and the Metra Electric line elevated tracks to the west. The project is being led by the Chicago Park District with Site Design Group serving as the designers, with five community meetings leading to the current proposal.

Construction Dates Announced For Next Phases Of Lincoln Yards

An updated construction timeline has been revealed for the Lincoln Yards mega development near Goose Island. With work completed on the initial phase of Ally at 1229 W Concord Place, developer Sterling Bay presented their updated phasing plan closer to what was revealed in 2021 during a recent community meeting. The next round of construction will also be phased out and with structures designed by various firms and plenty of new outdoor space.
