Construction permit for 2763 North Seminary Avenue signals the end of United Christian Church in Lincoln Park

A demolition permit is imminent for the former United Christian Church at 1055 West Diversey Parkway in Lincoln Park, as a new construction permit has been issued for the property. On September 4, the City of Chicago issued a permit allowing Contemporary Concepts to build their planned five-story, 24-unit residential development on the site. Crews were out the following day prepping the church for demolition.

Lincoln Park CVS being demolished for six new condos at 405 West Armitage Avenue

A single-story former CVS store at Lincoln Avenue, Armitage Avenue, and Sedgwick Street in Lincoln Park is being demolished as we speak, with Precision Excavation doing the honors. They received a demolition permit from the City of Chicago on August 22. Barrett Homes will soon begin construction here on a four-story, six-unit condominium development to be addressed as 405 West Armitage Avenue. The new building will replace the lost CVS retail space with two retail spaces: one will have entry at 403 West Armitage, and the other at 1952 North Sedgwick.

General contractor Spec Development is making progress on a new residential building at 2654 North Greenview Avenue in Lincoln Park. The City of Chicago issued a new construction permit for the property on March 8 of this year, but the demolition permit wasn’t issued until April 12, so work appears to be moving rather quickly on the double-lot site. The work is being performed for a developer listed on the permit as an LLC in Buffalo Grove.

Demolition is nearly complete of a masonry multi-residence building at 2034 North Racine Avenue in Lincoln Park. That clears the way for developer Real View Design and Development to erect a two-unit residential project on the site. A pending permit with the City of Chicago, applied for on May 31, calls for a three-story structure with a basement and a detached two-car garage. Each dwelling unit will have a rear-facing terrace, while the garage will be topped by a roof deck.
