A demolition permit was issued last week for a two-story frame multi-unit residential building and a detached frame garage located at 2654 N Dayton Street in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. The permit’s owners have been listed as 2654 N Dayton LLC. Tir Conaill Concrete Inc is serving as the demolition contractor on this project. New construction permits were issued earlier this month on November 7th for a three-story single-family home with a basement and a roof deck.

Construction Now at Fourth and Final Floor for 2317 N Clark Street in Lincoln Park

Construction has now topped out for 2317 N Clark Street in Lincoln Park. The four-story mixed-use building is being developed by 2300 N Clark LLC, with plans for 2,228 square feet of retail with 73 feet of frontage. This first-floor commercial space will be topped by 35 rental apartments along the three upper floors.

New Permits Issued for 1775 N Clybourn Avenue in Lincoln Park

Permits were issued this month for the construction of a four-story mixed-use building which will be located at 1775 N Clybourn Avenue in Lincoln Park. The permit owner is listed as Michael Breheny, and the scope includes retail on the first floor, and four residential units across the second through third floors, and office space on the fourth floor. Terraces will be included at the front of the building on the second, third, and fourth floors. There will also be a communal deck on the roof. There will also be a rear four-vehicle garage with its own roof deck. The lot is currently vacant.

Permits Issued For 1920 N Howe Street In Lincoln Park

A new permit was issued for the construction of a residential development at 1920 N Howe Street in Lincoln Park. Located just south of the intersection with W Armitage Avenue, the site is within walking distance to Oz Park and Steppenwolf Theater as well as plenty of shopping and dining. The property is being developed by a private owner with McCormack Sean Baccus serving as the architect on record.

A demolition permit was issued last week for a three-story multi-unit masonry building and an attached garage located at 1914 N Orchard Street in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. The permit’s owner has been listed as Savane Properties, Inc. As of now, no plans appear to have been submitted to upgrade any of the zoning designations for this property and there is currently no information on any future constructions at the site.

The permit’s owners have been listed as 1629 N Burling LLC and plans indicate there will be three total units spread across the first through fourth floors. There will be a three-vehicle masonry garage as well as a masonry trash enclosure.

Sterling Bay Proposes 15-Story Apartment Building Across from Lincoln Yards

Sterling Bay, the real estate developer behind the $6 billion Lincoln Yards masterplan, has revealed plans for a new 15-story apartment building directly to its east in Lincoln Park. The project faces Sterling Bay’s mega-assemblage from across the North Branch river, calling for 359 new units on a parcel addressed as 2031-2033 N Kingsbury Avenue. Of the total unit count, 36 on-site residences will be affordable. In addition, Sterling Bay will contribute $5.1 million to the city affordable housing fund. The Chicago-based developer has partnered with Lone Star Fund as a joint venture, further continuing their collaboration beyond Lincoln Yards.

Full Permits Issued For Covent Hotel Development In Lincoln Park

Full building permits have been issued for the remaining half of the mixed-use development at 2653 N Clark Street in Lincoln Park. The new project will redevelop the existing Covent Hotel and build a new addition on its surface parking lot at 537 W Drummond Place which received the approval. Local developer Drummond Development has partnered with architecture firm Brininstool + Lynch on the design and restoration while working with the National Historic Preservation Foundation (NHP) on the latter.

New construction permits have been issued for a four-story residential building located at 2034 N Mohawk Street in Lincoln Park. The owner is listed as 2034 N Mohawk LLC. The scope of the project includes four stories and three total dwelling units. The building will have a basement, and the units will be outfitted with front balconies and rear decking. The roof will have its own deck and pergolas. A three-vehicle garage with its own deck will also be on the property site.
