A three-flat has been permitted for construction next to the Armitage Brown/Purple Line elevated platform in Lincoln Park. The permit is for 2014 North Bissell Street; it was issued on March 5 after the application was submitted on November 9, 2023. It calls for a three-story with basement, three-unit building with a rooftop deck and rear balconies on all three floors. There will be three parking spaces located in the lower level. Construction costs are estimated at $1.189 million.

Wilton Bis 2022 LLC is named in the permit as the developer. That entity purchased the building next door (2016 North Bissell) in 2022 for $1.675 million. Previous improvements to what had basically been the side yard at 2014 included a small frame garage and a brick wall. Those have since been removed, with the site now serving as surface parking, likely for tenants of the four residential units in 2016 North Bissell. On the same day the new construction permit application was filed in 2023, a zoning alteration request was filed to adjust the setbacks at 2016, but that permit remains pending.
Hanna Architects is the architect of record for the new development, and they also filed the zoning change application for 2016 North Bissell. The general contractor is named in the permit as 4 Star Builders, Inc. No demolition permit will be required before construction begins.
