A rezoning application has been submitted for a new residential redevelopment of an existing factory building at 2548 S Federal Street in Douglas. Developer JDC Group Inc. is working with Red Architects to turn the old Rapid Roller Company factory building into apartments in the growing neighborhood. Bound by S Federal Street to the east, W 26th Street to the south, and Metra tracks to the east, the 17,500-square-foot lot is surrounded by the I-90 and the Stevenson Expressway.
Final touches are wrapping up for a. new four-story, dual-unit residential building at 1913 N Halsted Street in Lincoln Park. Joseph Debella Jr of New Plan Inc is the owner and developer of the edifice, which comes with two parking spaces at grade and a rooftop deck. The structure has replaced a former two-story frame building with a masonry basement level.
The Chicago City Council has approved a mixed-use development at 1138 W Belmont Avenue in Lake View. Located at the intersection of W Belmont Avenue and N Clifton Avenue, the property is a corner lot. The parcel is currently occupied by a one-story masonry building that holds the soon-to-close Tenenbaum Hardware store. SNS Realty Group is the developer behind the proposal.
Structural work has reached the third floor of 1039-41 W Belmont Avenue, a four-story mixed-use building currently underway in Lake View. Cumin Restaurant is the occupying owner, filed under the name Kathmandu Properties in the original construction permit. The new structure will replace a former two-story masonry building that received demolition permits in May 2019.
