Construction has reached its pinnacle height of 50 feet for a new four-story residential building at 2342 N Elston Court, located near the North Branch river in Bucktown.
Volo Development is behind the project, which will accommodate nine extra-wide condominiums. The construction will also come with a sprawling rooftop amenity deck, a partially above-grade basement level, and a rear parking garage with nine spaces and a second roof deck.
As indicated in submitted planning documents and the marketing website, there will be three duplex-down units occupying the basement and first floor, three simplex units on the second floor, and three duplex-up units on the third and fourth floors. The marketing website also notes that prices will begin in the $600,000s.
Red Architects is the architect for the masonry building, with a facade made up of aluminum paneling, varying shades of gray brick, and rows of floor-height window openings for ample light. Plans also call for large recessed balconies with glass and metal railings.
Beyond the nine off-street parking spaces, a Divvy bike station can be found directly across Elston, while bus stops for Routes 50, 73, and 74 can be found within a three-minute walk of the property. For rail service, the Metra’s Grayland station is a 13-minute walk southeast, while the CTA L Blue Line at Western station is a 23-minute walk southwest.
With a price tag of $1.5 million, the construction is being carried out by Diamond Partnership LLC. Currently, it appears that sales have not yet kicked off, though a completion and opening are targeted for next year.

So painfully unimaginative. Up your standards Chicago.

It’s interesting reading comments from strangers who have no idea what they are talking about. Also – this is by VOLO Development, not Diamond (she’s just the inhouse designer).
