The Chicago City Council has approved the rezoning of 160 N Morgan Street in West Loop. The approval clears the way for the bKL-designed structure to rise near the CTA Green Line Morgan stop, adjacent to the popular late-night spot Federales. The Chicago Plan Commission has approved a mixed-use development at 160 N Morgan Street in the West Loop. Slightly revised plans for the bKL Architecture-designed residential high-rise were presented by developer Sterling Bay as they continue to build up the former meat packing industrial area. Facing N Morgan street, the site which once held a drive-thru bank turned Gucci store pop-up, will give residents direct access to restaurant row, the CTA Green Line, and next door Federales bar.

300 N Michigan Avenue

300 N Michigan Nears Full Height in The Loop

Construction has is nearing the 40-floor mark for 300 N Michigan Avenue, a 47-story mixed-use skyscraper located at the corner of Michigan & Wacker in The Loop. Co-developed by Sterling Bay and Magellan Development Group, the 523-foot-tall tower will provide a combination of retail, hotel, and apartment programming. The first three floors will comprise of the 25,000-square-foot retail portion, while a 280-room citizenM hotel will occupy floors six through 15. The majority of the tower will be occupied by the residential section, with 289 units spanning floors 17 through 45.
