Construction Imminent for ALLY at 1229 W Concord, Sterling Bay’s Life Sciences Building in Lincoln Yards

Construction equipment is now on site, with foundation work imminent for Sterling Bay‘s first building at Lincoln Yards. This new structure, known as ALLY at 1229 W Concord, will serve as an eight-story office venue for bioscience-related companies. At 320,000 square feet, the edifice will feature a double-story lobby, flexible floor plates, and an east-facing terrace with river and skyline views.

CDC Approves $96.9 Million Sale of Former Michael Reese Hospital Site for Bronzeville Lakefront Development

The Community Development Commission has approved the $96.9 million sale of the former Michael Reese Hospital site to the developers of the Bronzeville Lakefront megadevelopment in Bronzeville. Located at 2929 S Ellis Avenue, the property is bound by E 26th Street to the north, E 31st Street to the south, S Vernon Avenue to the west, and S Lake Park Avenue to the east. The developers for the site are a team called GRIT Chicago, composed of Farpoint Development, Loop Capital, Draper & Kramer, Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives, McLaurin Development, and Bronzeville Community Development Partnership.

The City of Chicago’s INVEST South/West initiative has selected the Englewood Connect vision for the Englewood RFP site. Located along W 63rd Parkway between S Halsted Street and W 63rd Street, the site spans 4.28 acres and is made up of multiple packages. Offered as Site B1/B2 and Site C, the sites are positioned as the second phase of the adjacent Englewood Square I project, which is a Whole Foods-anchored shopping center. McLaurin Development and Farpoint Development are the developers behind the RFP proposal.

Plan Commission Approves Lakefront Megadevelopment at Former Michael Reese Hospital Site in Bronzeville

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the Bronzeville Lakefront Megadevelopment planned for the former Michael Reese Hospital site in Bronzeville. The 71-acre site spans a large parcel of land from E 26th Street to E 31 Street from north to south, and from S Martin Luther King Drive to S Lake Park avenue from west to east respectively. The existing Prairie Shores residential complex is included in the scope of this project, but will remain unchanged.
