YIMBY checked on the construction of One Chicago Square, a 2.2 million-square-foot mixed-use development in River North. With the taller east tower reaching its 28th of 74 floors, and the shorter west tower reaching its 15th of 49 floors, both towers now stand close to their respective one-third marks. Additionally, the facade on the taller tower has been installed up to its 16th floor.
Demolition permits have been filed for a triangular lot at 1983 N Clybourn Avenue, at the north end of the three-way intersection of N Clybourn Avenue, W Cortland Street, and N Racine Avenue. The site lies at the western edge of Lincoln Park, between the Sheffield Neighbors and Ranch Triangle sub-neighborhoods.
Construction has reached the 13th floor of the 15-story Bentham development at 146 W Erie Street in River North. Located at the intersection of W Erie Street and N LaSalle Drive, the site sits near a wide range of eating and entertainment options, including Chicago’s flagship McDonald’s restaurant and a Hard Rock Cafe. Sedgwick Development is both the building’s developer and designer.
Permits were filed back in April for a seven-story residential project at 1122 W Chicago Avenue. This triangular lot, formed by the intersection of W Chicago Avenue and the diagonally-oriented N Milwaukee Avenue, is steps away from the nearby CTA L Blue Line via Chicago station.
YIMBY spotted what appears to be a test facade piece on the lot of 1325 W Fulton Market, a project developed by Sterling Bay and designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. Located at the west end of the rising Fulton Market neighborhood, the site is located at the corner of W Fulton Market and N Ada Street, just across from Sterling Bay’s Fulton West at 1330 W Fulton Market. Nearby bus transit is a nine-minute walk southwest to the 9 route’s Ashland & Lake stop, as well as a nine-minute walk southeast to the 19 route’s Washington & Racine bus stop. Nearby CTA L stops include a seven-minute walk southwest to Ashland Station and a ten-minute walk southeast to Morgan Station, both of which are serviced by the Green and Pink Lines.
