Imprint Apartments has fully topped out and is nearing completion at 717 S Clark Street in Printer’s Row, a small, yet vibrant neighborhood just south of the core Loop district. Rising 315 feet tall at 31 stories, it is the neighborhood’s tallest building, just surpassing the neighboring Burnham Pointe apartment building that opened in 2008.

The site is nestled between two bars, First Draft and Half Sour, on S Clark Street. Nearby bus stops include Clark & Harrison along both the 22 and 24 bus routes less than a minute’s walk north, and Clark & Polk along the 24 bus line, less than a minute’s walk to the south. All CTA L lines are accessible nearby, with the closest being a five-minute walk north to the Blue Line’s LaSalle station and a seven-minute walk northeast to Harrison station. The Printer’s Row neighborhood, while only several blocks in size, contains a multitude of shops, restaurants, and bars, as well as Dearborn Station, a national historic landmark.

Developed by CMK Companies and designed by Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture, the glass structure is a pleasant juxtaposition to the brick buildings typical of the neighborhood. Its light glass facade reduces the building’s visual impact around the property.

For the Imprint’s 349 units, prices range from $1,426 a month for studios to $9,083 a month for a three-bedroom penthouse. A unique feature of the building are the top four floors, with 12 duplex apartments on levels 28-29 and four duplex penthouse apartments on levels 30-31. Each of the rentals on the upper four levels have access to a private outdoor terrace. The amenities package includes a fitness center, a library, an outdoor terrace on both the fifth and top floors, and a dog-grooming station.

Additional components comprise a parking garage and ground-floor retail space.

Occupancy has already begun, with full completion and opening expected later this year.
