Permits were approved last month for a five-story mixed-use building at 946 W Wellington Avenue in Lake View East, Chicago. Located between N Sheffield Avenue and N Dayton Street, the interior lot is steps from the Wellington CTA L station, serviced by the Brown and Purple Lines and five blocks south of the Belmont station, which is also serviced by the Red Line. Advocate-Aurora Illinois Masonic Medical Center is listed as the owner behind the applications, reporting $20.5 million as the cost for the overall development.
The proposed development will consist of 5.5-story parking garage with office space on the ground floor. The permit does not reveal how many vehicles will be accommodated in the structure. Details regarding height or square footage have not been released.
Timothy Tracey of SmithGroup is listed as the architect of record. Turner Construction Company is listed as the general contractor on the project.
Demolition permits were filed in October 2019 for the three-story mixed-use building on the property. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
