Plans Revealed for Residential Development at 2256 W Irving Park Road in North Center

Plans have been revealed for a proposed four-story residential development at 2256 W Irving Park Road in North Center. Located at the intersection of W Irving Park Road and N Oakley Avenue, the corner lot is home to the local Chicago Joe’s restaurant. The project site also includes the adjacent parking lot. The existing building is being sold by the owners to Landrosh Development, the developer behind the proposal.

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved plans for the new Belmont Cragin Elementary School at 6100 W Fullerton Avenue in Belmont Central. Located in the southeastern corner of Riis Park, the site is located at the intersection of W Fullerton Avenue and N Meade Avenue. Public Building Commission of Chicago is the developer for the project, representing Chicago Public Schools and the Chicago Park District.

Plan Commission Approves Lakefront Megadevelopment at Former Michael Reese Hospital Site in Bronzeville

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the Bronzeville Lakefront Megadevelopment planned for the former Michael Reese Hospital site in Bronzeville. The 71-acre site spans a large parcel of land from E 26th Street to E 31 Street from north to south, and from S Martin Luther King Drive to S Lake Park avenue from west to east respectively. The existing Prairie Shores residential complex is included in the scope of this project, but will remain unchanged.

Renderings have been revealed for a two-tower proposed mixed-use development located at 601 W Monroe Street in West Loop Gate. Located on a rectangular lot, the site sits along W Monroe Street, spanning the entire width of the block from S Jefferson Street to S Desplaines Street. Currently a surface parking lot, the parcel is directly adjacent to Heritage Green Park. Pacific Reach Properties is the developer behind the proposal.

Zoning has been approved for a two-building mixed-use development located at 1131 and 1135 W Winona Street in Uptown. Located on an L-shaped site, the project is bound by W Winona Street to the north, N Broadway to the west, the CTA L tracks to the east, and two existing buildings to the south.

Landmarks Commission Approves Class L Tax Incentive for 208 S LaSalle Street in The Loop

The Commission on Chicago Landmarks (CCL) has approved the application for a Class L tax incentive for 208 S LaSalle Street in The Loop. Home to the Continental and Commercial National Bank Building, the site is located along S LaSalle Street, between W Adams Street and W Quincy Street. The Prime Group is the developer behind the application.

Preliminary Landmark Recommendation Approved for Morton Salt Warehouse Complex in West Town

The Commission on Chicago Landmarks has approved the preliminary landmark recommendation for the Morton Salt Warehouse Complex in West Town. Addressed at 1357 N Elston Avenue, the complex is located at the intersection of N Elston Avenue and W Blackhawk Street. The eastern edge of the site is along the northern branch of the Chicago River. Blue Star Properties and R2 Companies are the developers and owners behind the complex.

City Council Approves Landmark Status and Class L Incentive for Illinois Bell Building in The Loop

The Chicago City Council has approved the landmark status and Class L tax incentive for the Illinois Bell Building. Located at 225 W Randolph Street in The Loop, the tower is located at the intersection of W Randolph Street and N Franklin Street. The tower rises 427 feet over 31 floors, and was constructed in 1965. The building was originally home to the headquarters of its namesake tenant, the Illinois Bell Telephone Company, while most recently home to AT&T offices.
