City Council Approves Demolition for 1020 W Randolph Street in the West Loop

The Chicago City Council has given the final approval for demolition of the existing structure at 1020 W Randolph Street in the West Loop. Located within Fulton-Randolph Market District, and the northeast corner of W Randolph Street and N Carpenter Street, the current site conditions consist of an existing one-story bank with drive-through that is the subject of this demolition approval. L3 Capital is the developer behind the project.

Renderings have been revealed for a proposed seven-story mixed-use development at 817 W Lake Street in the West Loop. Located at the intersection of N Green Street and W Lake Street, the subject property is made up of two lots that will be combined. These include the original Subarea B from the Shapack Partners’ 167 N Green Street project and the existing structure at 817 W Lake Street. Sancerre Realty is the developer behind the proposal.

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved plans for a new school and athletic facility located at 731 S Washtenaw Avenue in East Garfield Park. Spread across two acres of land, the project site is bound by W Harrison Street to the north, the Union Pacific rail lines to the east, W Taylor Street to the south, and S Washtenaw Avenue to the west. Chicago Hope Academy and Chicago Lions Charitable Association are collaborating on the proposal.

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved a mixed-use development at 140 N Ashland Avenue in the Near West Side. Located at the intersection of N Ashland Avenue and W Lake Street, the project site is across from Union Park. The existing structure on the lot is the current home of the Women’s Treatment Center, which will be downsizing their operations and moving out of the building. Marquette Companies is the developer behind the proposal.

Onni Group Reveals Halsted Point Development at 901 N Halsted Street in Goose Island

Onni Group has revealed their proposed Halsted Point development located at 901 N Halsted Street in Goose Island. Planned for the site of the current Greyhound Bus facility, the project site is located at the southern tip of Goose Island. The property is bound by N Halsted Street to the west, W Hooker Street to the north, and the Chicago River to the south and east.

Planned for the site of the former Transfiguration of Our Lord Parish, the property is a corner parcel located on the southwestern corner of W Carmen Avenue and N Rockwell Street. The Chicago City Council has approved Surge eSports Stadium located at 2500 S Wabash Avenue in the Near South Side. Located along S Wabash Avenue, the project will utilize two different sites. The main property, located at 2500 S Wabash Avenue, is bound by E 25th Street to the north, S Wabash Avenue to the east, a four-story residential building to the south, and a public alley and CTA L tracks to the west. The lot currently holds a two-story brick building and surface parking lot for trailers. The secondary lot, located at 2617 S Wabash Avenue, is occupied by an existing surface parking lot and one-story masonry building at the intersection of S Wabash Avenue and E 26th Street.

Final Landmark Recommendation Approved for Pentecostal Church of Holiness in North Lawndale

The Commission on Chicago Landmarks has approved the final landmark recommendation for the Pentecostal Church of Holiness in North Lawndale. Formerly named Our Lady of Lourdes, the church is located at 4208 W 15th Street, at the intersection of W 15th Street and S Keeler Avenue. Originally constructed in 1932, the structure was designed by architect Louis Guenzel.
