A three-story, six-unit apartment building is progressing at 3930 N Janssen Avenue in Chicago’s Lake View neighborhood. The City of Chicago issued its New Construction permit on October 25, 2023. Being built by developer and general contractor Barrett Homes, the residences will include porches and balconies at the rear on all three levels and a roof-top deck. A detached six-car garage will also be topped with a roof deck.

Permit Issued for 6120 S University Avenue in Woodlawn

A construction permit for a new residential project at 6120 S University Avenue in Woodlawn has been approved. This development will consist of a three-story building housing nine units, replacing a three-story brick building. McInerney Properties LLC is the project’s owner.

Three-Story Redevelopment at 935 W Webster Avenue is Now Topped Out in Lincoln Park

A three story construction project at 935 W Webster Avenue in Lincoln Park has now topped out. Mavrek Development is overseeing this mixed-use redevelopment, which builds upon the existing one-story structure that was once home to the State restaurant. The redesigned building will incorporate four new apartment units above retail space on the first floor.

Permit Issued for 3121 N Clybourn Avenue in Roscoe Village

A new residential permit has been approved for 3121 N Clybourn Avenue in Roscoe Village. This three-story development, set to replace a low-rise structure and an accompanying parking lot, represents the first of two planned condominium structures on the site, both developed by Bresani LLC. There will be no retail space, as the ground floors will be occupied for residential use.

Permit Issued for 1613 W Belmont Avenue in Lake View

A five-story residential development at 1613 W Belmont Avenue in Lake View has been granted a construction permit. The new development will host 11 residential units, each with ground floor balconies and additional balconies on the second through fourth floors, as well as a roof deck. An automatic sprinkler system and a rear wood fence are notable aspects of the construction, as outlined in the submitted plans. 1613 W Belmont LLC owns the project and will replace a one-story retail building.

Four-Story Multifamily Building Receives Permit at 3911 S Vincennes Avenue in Bronzeville

A construction permit has been approved for a new mixed-use development located at 3911 S Vincennes Avenue in Bronzeville. This four-story masonry edifice will provide a total of 18 residential units, coupled with ground-floor office space, replacing the previously vacant grass lot.

4102 N Sheridan Road Reaches Second Floor in Buena Park

The construction of the four-story residential development at 4102 N Sheridan Road in Buena Park continues to rise, with the second story now taking shape. Barrett Homes, the project developer, plans to transform the site of a former surface parking lot into a building containing 32 residences.

Plans Revealed For Mixed Use Development At 4454 N Western Avenue In Lincoln Square

Initial details have been revealed for a mixed-use development at 4454 N Western Avenue in Lincoln Square. Located on the southwest corner with W Sunnyside Avenue and directly across the street from Welles Park, the project would demolish and replace a vacant one-story commercial building with a multi-colored brick facade. The proposal comes to us from developer Gerard Coyle who is working with local architecture-firm 360 Design Studio.

Permit Issued for 3234 N Kenmore Avenue in Lake View

A conditional construction permit has been issued for a new residential development located at 3234 N Kenmore Avenue in Lake View. The project will feature a three-story, two-unit residence complete with a basement, roof deck, enclosure and pergola, rear decks, and iron and wood fences. This new development will be replacing an existing structure, as the release of the full wrecking permit is still pending. The listed owner of the project has not been disclosed in the permit documents.

Final Facade Details Round Out for 120 Willard in West Loop

The residential project at 120 N Willard Court in West Loop known as “120 Willard”, is steadily approaching completion. Developed by PLD Custom Homes, the five-story residential development will provide seven housing units. The developer is replacing a former 1800’s-era single-family brick residence. As can be seen in photos, the final touches to the metal accents and inset balconies are currently underway.
