Foundation work is underway after the completion of demolition at 1450 W School Street in Lake View. The two-unit residential building, permitted by the City of Chicago on April 26, will include a detached two-car garage, plus two wood decks; one atop the garage, and one at the rear of the first floor.
V & M Development is listed on the permit as the general contractor, MMNT Development as the developer, and 360 Design Studio as the design architect.
A demolition permit was issued April 23 for the existing previous structure at 1450 W School. By the time the New Construction permit was issued, just three days later, demolition work had already started. Tir Conaill Concrete was the demo contractor.
Residents of the two new units at 1450 W School Street will be a two-block walk from the Southport CTA elevated train platform serving the Brown Line. The 77 Belmont bus stops two blocks to the south, while the #9 and X9 Ashland Express buses stop about two blocks to the northwest.
