Demolition of 1150 West Diversey Parkway will level Lynn’s, create three new units

A demolition permit has been issued by the City of Chicago for the three-story multi-residence at 1150 West Diversey Parkway in Lake View. That’s also the former home of Lynn’s Hair & Spa, which appears to have moved around the corner onto Lincoln Avenue, according to a Facebook posting. The teardown will create a lot for a three-unit building on the site, to be developed by a local LLC. The demolition permit was issued August 29, naming Tir Conaill Concrete as the demo contractor. Real estate sites show the building was constructed in the 1880s; it sold in May of this year for $625,000.

1950 West Dickens condos progressing towards fall delivery in Bucktown

A condominium building at 1950 West Dickens Avenue continues progress toward delivering new residential units to the Bucktown neighborhood this fall. A construction permit issued by the City of Chicago in September of last year, using the address of 1948 West Dickens, allowed Bak Home Development to get started on the four-story, five-unit project with general contractor Bachula Development on the build.

Demo permit issued for 1891-built single-family home at 1836 West Addison Street

A 2,240-square-foot single-family home at 1836 West Addison Street in North Center received a demolition permit from the City of Chicago on August 1. That clears the way for a new rental property to be built on the site. Real estate sites show the home, built in 1891, was listed in March of this year and was on the market for only 73 days. Listed for $1.1 million, it closed in June for $1,025.000.
