An initial approval has been granted for the redevelopment of the Hoyt Building at 465 W Cermak Road in Chinatown. Located along the south branch of the Chicago River on the corner with S Canal Street, the historic building shed its previous developer a few months ago as we covered the updated proposal revealed last January. Now Aurora-based developer Windfall Group received approval from the Permit Review Committee for the SPACE Architects + Planners designed proposal.

The Chicago City Council has approved a mixed-use development at 1870 N Milwaukee Avenue in Bucktown. Located on the southwestern most corner of the neighborhood just north of the intersection with N Oakley Avenue, the project will replace a vacant lot bound by CTA tracks in the rear. The team at Peerless Development is behind the proposal and is working with local design firm SPACE Architects + Planners on the low-rise.

Construction Permit Issued for 921 N Noble Street in Noble Square

A full construction permit has been issued for 921 N Noble Street, part of the larger St. Boniface Redevelopment initiative in Noble Square. ZSD Corp and Stas Development are co-developing this four-story mixed-use structure, which will be located directly north of the St. Boniface church, originally constructed in 1904. While initial plans for 921 N Noble Street projected a two-story building and subsequent documents proposed a three-story development, the most recent architectural drawings and permit description have confirmed four stories.
