West Loop Collection’s Fifth Building Tops Out in West Loop

The fifth and final segment of West Loop Collection at 216-236 S Green Street is now at roof height. The project by POGN Development consists of 40 total condominiums divided up into eight per building in the West Loop. From three-bedroom apartments to five-bedroom penthouses, these magnificent residences offer something for everyone. Prices range from a modest $1 million for the single-level “simplex” to $2 million for a duplex penthouse.

Onni Fulton Market Takes Fifth Place In Year End Countdown

Coming in at the fifth place in this year’s countdown is the residential development at 354 N Union Avenue in the Fulton River District. Contrary to its address the main entrance is reached off of N Halsted Street just south of the overpass with W Kinzie Street, having replaced an empty lot adjacent to the K2 residential tower easily seen from the highway nearby. Canadian developer Onni Group is leading the project with local architecture firm Pappageorge Haymes having worked on its design.

Exterior Construction Crosses Finish Line for Onni Fulton Market in Fulton River District

With mainly landscaping work now remaining, exterior construction has been completed for Onni‘s 33-story residential building dubbed Onni Fulton Market, located at 354 N Union Avenue in Fulton River District. At 410 feet in height, the Onni-developed tower will provide 373 new rental apartments to a rapidly growing cluster of high rises at the northwest corner of downtown.

Schiller Place Apartments Celebrates Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony in Near North Side

Yesterday, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for a new three-building mixed-income housing development known as Schiller Place Apartments in Near North Side. Situated at 711, 731 and 749 W Schiller Street, the project is a collaboration between co-developers Structured Development and Evergreen Real Estate Group and governmental bodies such as the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) and Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA).

Permits Issued For Residential Development At 3449 N Ashland Avenue In Lake View

Full building permits have been issued for the residential development at 3449 N Ashland Avenue in Lake View. This third and final phase of a larger block-long project will sit on the southeast corner with W Cornelia Avenue and finish the replacement of the Loyola Press building that stood on the site for 97 years. Developed under an LLC for the address, Contemporary Concepts Inc is the company behind the three structures and have been working with Studio Dwell Architects on all of their designs.

120 N Willard Court Wraps up in West Loop

Final facade touches can be seen at 120 N Willard Court, a five-story residential building just south of the Randolph Street in West Loop. The development will replace a pre-Chicago Fire single-family residence, which received demolition permits last December. The project is set to yield seven total units and seven parking spaces.

Plans Revealed for Apartment Tower Next To Guinness Brewery in Fulton Market

By Fulton Market‘s height standards, a towering new residential development has been proposed for the 375 N Morgan Street, lying adjacently west of the underway Guinness Brewery project. Spearheading both projects on the two adjacent parcels, developer Fred Latsko has called for a nearly 40-story building with more than 500 for-rent units. Given its similar number of floors to the nearly topped-out 900 Randolph, we can likely expect a height in the range between 450 and 500 feet. Latsko had previously mulled plans for a 30-story office development, but has shifted due to ever-increasing apartment demand and the lifting of the neighborhood’s moratorium on new residential developments.

Sterling Bay Proposes 15-Story Apartment Building Across from Lincoln Yards

Sterling Bay, the real estate developer behind the $6 billion Lincoln Yards masterplan, has revealed plans for a new 15-story apartment building directly to its east in Lincoln Park. The project faces Sterling Bay’s mega-assemblage from across the North Branch river, calling for 359 new units on a parcel addressed as 2031-2033 N Kingsbury Avenue. Of the total unit count, 36 on-site residences will be affordable. In addition, Sterling Bay will contribute $5.1 million to the city affordable housing fund. The Chicago-based developer has partnered with Lone Star Fund as a joint venture, further continuing their collaboration beyond Lincoln Yards.

Permits Issued For Mass Timber Structure At 232 W Chestnut Street Within North Union

New permits have been issued for the third structure set to rise within the North Union mega development at 232 W Chestnut Street in the Near North Side. Located towards the western end of the larger project on the intersection with N Franklin Street, the new building replaces two existing two-story structures currently being demolished. Developer JDL, most recently known for One Chicago, is showing no signs of stopping on the construction of the Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture designed complex.

Street Wall Facade Wraps Up at CA6 Condominiums in West Loop

The front-facing street wall is undergoing final facade installation at CA6, Belgravia’s seven-story condominium development in West Loop. The development is set to house 72 total residences and is located at 311 S Racine Avenue, replacing a former single-story dance center.
