Demolition work is underway for two building in Lake View being replaced by 3310 N Lincoln Avenue. The single-story building at 3312 North Lincoln has already been reduced to rubble, and the three-story 3310 is next. Work by demolition contractor Precision Excavation began this week, in anticipation of the new 24-unit apartment building to be built on the site.
The Habitat Company on Thursday announced the first residents have moved in to their new homes at Cassidy on Canal, 350 North Canal Street in the Fulton River District. This first wave of new arrivals into their apartments brings Cassidy on Canal full circle, from demolition of the former Cassidy Tire building, to groundbreaking, and on to inhabitation.
The Chicago City Council has approved a rezoning request for a residential project at 5400 N Ashland Avenue. Designed by Compass Architecture, the development has been scaled down from a five-story to a four-story structure, now standing at a height of 52 feet, down from the initial 57 feet.
Vertical construction continues at 633 S LaSalle Street, a 17-story residential project in Printer’s Row, following the completion of construction financing by Singapore’s Q Investment Partners (QIP) and Chicago-based Melrose Ascension Capital (MAC). The project, which recently changed hands from PMG and The Collective, is a key venture for QIP as it enters the US real estate market.
A special use application has been approved for the residential conversion of 153 W Ohio Street in River North. Sitting near the intersection with N LaSalle Street directly across from the Ohio House Motel, the proposal will redevelop the existing commercial building. The project is being led by local developer Senco Properties and designed by architecture firm FitzGerald Associates.
