Demolition work is underway for two buildings in Lake View being replaced by 3310 N Lincoln Avenue. The single-story building at 3312 North Lincoln has already been reduced to rubble, and the three-story 3310 is next. Work by demolition contractor Precision Excavation began this week, in anticipation of the new 24-unit apartment building to be built on the site.
Designed by Jonathan Splitt Architects, 3310 N Lincoln will deliver studio, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom units to the neighborhood upon completion. Five of the 24 apartments will conform to the city’s affordable unit guidelines. Private balconies and shared rooftop space highlight the development.
Demolition permits were issued for both properties on April 23 of this year. Flooring store Rexx Rug occupied the single story of 3312, as well as the ground-level floor of 3310. Levels 2 and 3 contained two residential units. As mentioned above, Precision Excavators is the demolition contractor.
Construction permits have been applied for by site owner Mangan Builders. And with demo work underway in earnest, expect to see that new construction permit issued very soon.
