Chicago’s newest tower crane has been erected in the South Loop, allowing a 12-story residential building at 1723 S Michigan Avenue to begin its ascent. 1723 South Michigan is a 149-unit rental tower from developer CMK Companies, and is designed by Gensler.

Brandts Build is on the job as general contractor. Goebel Forming is the concrete contractor, putting them in charge of operating the crane. The base for that tower crane was planted on the site in late May.
