The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the updated plans for 1016 W Jackson Boulevard in the West Loop. Replacing a five-story office building and a two-story commercial building, the project expanded in size recently and needed new approval. This proposal is being led by Mavrek Development, with Eckenhoff Saunders serving as the architects.
A four-story, six-unit apartment building has begun construction at 1624 North Damen Avenue in the Wicker Park neighborhood. The full building permit, issued June 27 of this year and assigned to 1628 North Damen, calls for retail space at ground level. Balconies at the front and rear of the building, designed by 360 Design Studio, are also included on the permit. No parking spaces are mentioned.
New renderings have been revealed for the revised plans of 1016 W Jackson Boulevard in the West Loop. Originally revealed earlier this year just east of the CTA Belmont stop, the large proposal received plenty of feedback from the community leading to its new design. The project is being led by local developer Mavrek Development with Eckenhoff Saunders working on its design.
The Saint Grand, a mixed-use development at 218 E Grand in Streeterville, has opened for residents. The project, led by Mavrek Development, GW Properties, Luxury Living, and Double Eagle Development, was topped off in August 2023. The building was designed by NORR and constructed by Lendlease. The building also offers 7,500 square feet of retail space and a bike room for residents and office tenants.
