Located on the southwest corner of the intersection with N Kenmore Avenue, the empty building most recently served as an SRO three years ago before being vacated by its current owner. Owner Jim Stoller has been working towards making the conversion a reality since 2019 when he received zoning approval along with relocating the building’s past residents at his own expense.

Construction permits were officially issued on Monday for ‘Sarah’s on Lakeside,’ the upcoming residential housing development for homeless women located at 4737 N Sheridan Road in Uptown. As YIMBY previously reported, this development comes from non-profit organization Sarah’s Circle and Perkins + Will who will act as the architect for the new project. This new build will be replacing an empty lot on the corner of Sheridan Road and W Lakeside Place.

Permits were issued on Thursday for a three-story residential building located at 4900 N Kenmore Avenue in Uptown. Permits for the development were issued to Variable Properties LLC, and will involve seven dwelling units with balconies, a basement, a shared rooftop deck, and two detached one-story masonry garages. The first garage will house five parking spaces and will have its own rooftop deck. The second garage will offer two additional spaces. The lot is currently vacant.
