City Fully Approves Bally’s Casino With Revisions In River West

Key city approvals have been granted for the upcoming Bally’s Casino at 777 W Chicago Avenue in River West. The approvals came from both City Council and Plan Commission that have now fully cleared the project to move forward within the city, with the last hurdle being the upcoming vote from the Illinois Gaming Board. Rhode Island-based Bally’s famously won the long bidding competition earlier this year and committed to creating their flagship property in the city with local architecture firm SCB working on its design and Site Design Group on landscape.

Details Revealed For West Loop Office Tower At 357 N Green Street

Details have been revealed for a new mixed-use development at 357 N Green Street in the West Loop. The final of the three-proposal being presented in this month’s Committee on Design meeting including the 600-foot-tall 420 N May Street, this tower will replace a vacant lot just north of the Metra tracks on the corner with W Kinzie Street. Proposed by Canadian-based Onni Group, this project is being designed by local architecture-firm SCB and will sit over the Kennedy Expressway below.

The Chicago Zoning Board of Approvals has approved a new residential development at 1010 W Madison Street in the West Loop. Located just north of the intersection with N Morgan Street, the project going by the name of Momad will replace a vacant parking lot and bring new for-sale condominiums to the growing area. Developer Fulton Street Companies is behind the project along with local architecture firm SCB who is working on the design, both companies with an extensive history in premium Chicago projects.

The Chicago City Council has approved Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s selection of Bally’s Tribune Center casino bid at 777 W Chicago Avenue in River West. Replacing the vacant printing plant, the decision comes just weeks after the mayor selected the proposal as the finalist from the original batch of five bids which was then narrowed down to three earlier this year. Rhode Island-based Bally’s is working with local architecture firm SCB on the riverfront project that gathered plenty of feedback and comments from both the community and the aldermen during the heated meeting.
