Invest South/West Reveals Development Proposals For RFP In Humboldt Park

Invest South/West has revealed two new mixed-use development schemes for its RFP sites at 3601 W Chicago Avenue in Humboldt Park. The roughly 30,000-square-foot site is made up of two private lots and an alley to be vacated that are bound by N Central Park Avenue, W Chicago Avenue, and N Monticello Avenue. For this RFP, Invest South/West met with the community for months to derive four basic needs each development needs to focus on, those being; walkability, community safety, diversity of retail goods and service, and celebration of community.

Phase Two for Mural Park Adaptive Reuse Project Completes in Pilsen

Final touches are drawing closer toward completion for the second phase of an adaptive reuse project known as Mural Park. The developers Condor Partners, Transwestern, and Chicago Development Partners are converting two four-story masonry warehouses to commercial and office space, while adding a new park space in between. The second phase of this project is the southern of the two buildings, located at 920 W Cullerton Street. Last year, it was announced that the parent company of Blue Cross Blue Shield would lease the entirety of this second building.

Rezoning Filed For Mixed-Use Development At 2841 W Belmont Avenue In Avondale

Developer Wilmot Construction, Inc has filed a zoning change application with the Committee on Zoning for a mixed-use development at 2841 W Belmont Avenue in Avondale. Wilmot is teaming up with Hanna Architects to bring the new five-story building to the ever-growing neighborhood. Bound by W Belmont Avenue to the north and an existing one-story auto repair shop to the west, its eastern neighbor would be a new five-story residential development called The Avondale also being developed by Wilmot.

Revised Plans Revealed For New Life-Science Development At 400 N Elizabeth Street In West Loop

New revised plans have been revealed for a life-science development at 400 N Elizabeth Street in the West Loop. Developer Mark Goodman & Associates presented the plans for the Solomon Cordwell Buenz-designed tower to the West Loop Community Organization last week. In the meeting they exemplified their collaboration with the neighbors of nearby lofts buildings and the Chicago Department of Transportation among others that led to the updated design.
