Museum Of Ice Cream Announces Location In Magnificent Mile’s Tribune Tower

The Museum of Ice Cream has announced it will open its fourth permanent location inside the re-developed Tribune Tower at 435 N Michigan Avenue on the Magnificent Mile. The Chicago location will be joining similar attractions in New York, Austin, and Singapore, the museum previously has operated long-term pop-ups in places like Miami and San Francisco drawing large crowds to its many social-media friendly displays.

Plans Revealed For New Community Manufacturing HQ In Chicago Lawn

Apparel manufacturer Blue Tin Production and architects Studio Gang have revealed plans for a community-centered manufacturing facility at 3081 W 63rd Street in Chicago Lawn. The new headquarters for the growing company will utilize a recently purchased existing factory building built in 1920 on the corner of W 63rd Street and S Albany Avenue. The two-story brick clad building most recently held a small food mart that closed in 2020 and will undergo an interior reconstruction prior to opening.

Partial Demo Commences for Guinness Brewery Conversion of Pennsylvania Railroad Terminal

Last week, Chicago YIMBY highlighted new plans for a Guinness brewery conversion of the former Pennsylvania Railroad terminal building at 375 N Morgan Street in Fulton Market District. Now, demolition has kicked off for the building’s non load-bearing walls as its outer shell undergoes replacement. The project is being co-developed by Guinness and Fred Latsko, and will involve the adaptive re-use of the existing masonry structure, alongside the construction of a new 33-story tower adjacently west.
