A demolition permit has been carried out on a single-story commercial building at 3650 North Ashland Avenue in Lake View. The permit was issued on January 27 of this year to raze the shuttered Capt’n Nemo’s sandwich shop, with Precision Excavation performing teardown duties. A visit to the site on June 15 shows nothing remaining but rubble and salvaged bricks.
The Navy Pier Marina opened over Father’s Day Weekend on the north side of the pier. There remains work to be done on the containerized amenities building, but boats have begun using the marina as a stopping point on their excursions through Chicago’s waterways.
The full permit to complete construction on The Lake social club in River North was issued by the City of Chicago on Thursday, May 29th. Caissons are complete and excavation is currently underway at the site, located at 205 West Superior Street. The entity of The Lake Property Owner LLC got a foundation permit for the five-story private club in November of last year. Bulley & Andrews is the general contractor, with GREC Architects named as architect of record.
A new permit has been issued by the City of Chicago to allow for the construction of a two-story daycare facility on the northeast corner of Higgins and Austin Avenues in Jefferson Park. The permit uses 5025 North Austin as the address of record. Its application was filed on February 4th and it came through on May 15th. It shows a reported cost of $800,000.
Construction of a sales center for the 1325 West Fulton condominium development has begun on the southeast corner of Ada and Fulton Streets in the Fulton Market District. The construction permit was issued April 22 for the single-story edifice, which Sulo Development will use to market their proposed condominiums in the first of three towers at the site.
