Steel beam installation is wrapping up for a three-story commercial building at 151 N Michigan Avenue in New Eastside. This mixed-use development will be a direct expansion of the Millennium Park Plaza apartment building located adjacently north. The 74-foot-tall structure, developed by BJB Partners, will activate a previously under-utilized corner at Michigan & Randolph that was a single-story restaurant venue.

Renovation Permit issued for 41 E Oak Street in Gold Coast

The City of Chicago has issued a renovation permit for 41 E Oak Street in Streeterville. The project will involve changes to the exterior of the existing two-story commercial building, as well as major alterations to the interior mercantile space. The overhaul will also involve both new roof and floor replacements to cater to the new interior layout.

Initial Permit Issued for mHUB Redevelopment of Cameron Building in Near West Side

A preliminary permit for interior demolition has been granted in preparation for the revitalization of the Cameron Building at 240 N Ashland Avenue in the Near West Side. Situated on the southwest corner at the intersection with W Fulton Street, the historic clocktower building has been vacant for several years and is now proposed as the new headquarters for local incubator mHUB. The non-profit organization is driving the initiative, while Gensler is now confirmed as the project architect.

Permit Granted for Daycare Build-Out in Dunning

Initial Details Revealed For Commercial Development At 1158 W 59th Street In Englewood

Initial renderings have been revealed for the commercial development at 1158 W 59th Street in Englewood. Located on the intersection with S Racine Avenue just south of the future Englewood Nature Trail, the new project will rehab the existing multi-story building on the site which once housed neighborhood staple Leon’s Bar-B-Q. Now the Resident Association of Greater Englewood (RAGE) plans to bring back dining to the location with a new design by local firm QORF Studios.

Mixed-Use Low-Rise at 151 N Michigan Avenue Continues in New Eastside

Structural work is well underway, with the elevator core reaching its full height at the new commercial development at 151 N Michigan Avenue in New Eastside. BJB Partners has been steadily progressing in the construction of this project, which will replace a former single-story restaurant and offer a total of 15,000 square feet of commercial space. The ground floor is set to include 5,300 square feet of retail space, divided into two or three commercial units based on demand.

Plan Commission Approves Roastery And Brewpub In Pullman

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the commercial development at 756 E 111th Street in Pullman. Located on the corner with S Ellis Avenue just east of the Pullman National Historical Park, the new structure will replace a vacant lot surrounded by other new businesses like Culvers and Potbelly as well. Developer Cup O’ Joe Coffee LLC is working with Edafos Studio on the two-story structure which has seen some revisions since announced last year.

Roof Installed for 801 W Belmont in Lake View

The roof has now been installed for 801 W Belmont Avenue, a two-story commercial development that will occupy a prominent corner site in Lakeview East. The project is developed by Hubbard Street Group, which also owns several other properties along the busy commercial corridor.

Updated Details Revealed For McKinley Park RFP

Further details and renderings have been revealed for the finalist of the Central Manufacturing District RFP. Located at 1769 W Pershing Road in McKinley Park just west of the intersection with S Ashland Avenue, we last covered the project in January as the city narrowed it down to three finalists with mixed-use proposals featuring everything from housing to movie studios on the multi-site lot. The Chicago Department of Planning and Development is leading the selection process with the bids being presented earlier this week at a community meeting.
