While two Lincoln Square buildings await demolition, a new construction permit has been issued by the City of Chicago for a residential development at 4529 North Western Avenue. The permit came through on August 20, and it allows the entity of Western Front LLC in Buffalo Grove to build an eight-unit development spanning two lots, 4529 and 4531, mid-block on Western Ave.
Brickwork is the featured attraction as construction continues on affordable residences at 4715 N Western Avenue in Lincoln Square. General contractors Leopardo Construction and KMW Communities have added masonry to most of the Western Avenue-facing façade, with work now shifting to the south-facing wall along Leland Avenue.
Last week, Precision Excavation began demolishing the two-story mixed-use brick building at 4634 N Western Avenue in Lincoln Square, clearing the way for a residential development to begin construction. The new project by the Macon Construction Group has been approved, though not yet permitted, and will see a new six-story building link to the existing four-story structure at 4642 N Western Avenue.
Scaffolding and blue construction wrap surround the four-story condominium building at 4700 N Western Avenue in Lincoln Square as crews work on the balconies on all four façades. Structures Construction is the general contractor for the project, which includes replacing masonry piers on said balconies with steel columns.
A 42-unit residential building is progressing at 5151 N Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Square. The five-story development replaces a one-story building at 5151 and a two-story structure at 5153 N Lincoln Avenue. Both were permitted for demolition August 16, 2022.
