Initial plans have been revealed for an affordable residential development at 5853 N Broadway in Edgewater. Located just south of the intersection with W Thorndale Avenue, the project would replace an existing one-story masonry building and its parking lot adjacent to the Broadway Armory community center. The current structure is utilized by the Streets and Sanitation Department, who will vacate the property. Local developer Bickerdike Redevelopment Corporation is working with Landon Bone Baker Architects on the design of the new mid-rise.

The Chicago City Council has approved the rezoning for a mixed-use development at 3150 N Racine Avenue in Lakeview. The project on the corner with W Belmont Avenue recently received its approval from the Plan Commission and will be able to proceed with permitting when it sees fit. Being developed as an expansion to the adjacent Single Room Occupancy (SRO) building operated by developer Mercy Housing, the expansion continues the same design language and is being led by local firm Landon Bone Baker.

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved plans for a residential expansion of the existing Belray Apartments building at 3150 N Racine Avenue in Lakeview. The property and its parking lot are located right off of W Belmont Avenue and are operated by Mercy Housing, who is also developing the new expansion with architect Landon Bone Baker. Since we last covered the project in January, there have been a handful of changes including a decrease in total units.

Initial details have been revealed for the second phase of 43Green at 301 E 43rd Street in Bronzeville. Located on the corner with S Prairie Avenue adjacent to the CTA Green Line 43rd station, the new Landon Bone Baker Architects-designed building will replace a one-story commercial building presently on the site. The project comes to us from co-developers P3 Markets and The Habitat Company, the same team behind the nearby first phase that began site prep earlier this year.
