PRC Approves Mixed-Use Development at 210 N Aberdeen Street in West Loop

The Permit Review Committee, a subcommittee of the Commission on Chicago Landmarks, has approved the mixed-use development proposed at 210 N Aberdeen Street in the West Loop. Consisting of an irregularly-shaped site, the property consists of an empty lot at the intersection of W Lake Street and N Aberdeen Street, the historic Arthur Harris Building along N Aberdeen Street located in the Fulton-Randolph Market Historic District, and a few one-story masonry buildings behind Arthur Harris fronting N May Street. LG Development Group is the developer behind the proposal.

The Commission on Chicago Landmarks has approved the preliminary landmark recommendation for the Monastery of the Holy Cross at 3101 S Aberdeen Street in Bridgeport. Located at the intersection of W 31st Street and S Aberdeen Street, the church structure was formerly the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Updated Plans Revealed for Residential Development at 2256 W Irving Park Road in North Center

Updated plans have been revealed for a proposed residential development at 2256 W Irving Park Road in North Center. Located on a corner lot, the project site sits at the intersection of W Irving Park Road and N Oakley Avenue. The property is currently home to the Chicago Joe’s Restaurant which is being sold by the owner. Landrosh Development is the developer behind the proposal.

The Chicago City Council has approved a mixed-use development located at 6100 S Halsted Street in Englewood. Located on a city-owned lot, the vacant parcel stretches from W 61st Street to W 63rd Parkway along S Halsted Street. Keith B. Key Enterprises is the developer behind the proposal.

Chicago City Council Approves Mixed-Use Development at 817 W Lake Street in West Loop

The Chicago City Council has approved a mixed-use development at 817 W Lake Street in the West Loop. Located at the intersection of N Green Street and W Lake Street, the subject property is made up of two lots that will be combined. These include the original Subarea B from the Shapack Partners 167 N Green Street project and the existing structure at 817 W Lake Street. Sancerre Realty is the developer behind the proposal.

Chicago City Council Greenlights 47-Story Tower at 640 W Washington Boulevard in West Loop Gate

The Chicago City Council has approved a 47-story mixed-use tower, located at 640 W Washington Boulevard in West Loop Gate. The site is located along W Washington Boulevard, bound by the Kennedy Expressway to the west, W Court Place to the north, and N Des Plaines Street to the east. The new development will replace an existing surface parking lot. Crescent Heights is the developer behind the project.

The Chicago City Council has approved a mixed-use development located at 1317 N Western Avenue in Wicker Park. Located along N Western Avenue the mid-block vacant lot was once a used car sales lot. Gibbons Construction is the developer behind the proposal.

Chicago City Council Approves North Union Development in Near North Side

The Chicago City Council has approved the 8.1-acre North Union megadevelopment in the Near North Side. Generally bounded by the CTA Brown Line tracks and W Oak Street, W Chestnut Street, and N Wells Street, the North Union site will spread across eight acres. Planned by JDL Development, the project site is currently occupied by one- or two-story buildings, parking lots, and an athletic field, all part of the Moody Bible Institute campus. The entire plan reserves 9.4 acres for Moody Bible Institute while turning over the remaining 8.1 acres over to JDL.

City Council Approves Landmark Status for Pentecostal Church of Holiness in North Lawndale

The Chicago City Council has approved the landmark status for the Pentecostal Church of Holiness in North Lawndale. Formerly named Our Lady of Lourdes, the church is located at 4208 W 15th Street, at the intersection of W 15th Street and S Keeler Avenue. Originally constructed in 1932, the structure was designed by architect Louis Guenzel.
