CDC Approves $2 Million TIF for Oakwood Shores Phase 3 Development in Bronzeville

The Community Development Commission has approved $2 million in Tax Increment Financing (TIF) money for the Oakwood Shores Phase 3 development in Bronzeville. Located on two parcels, the project is the third installment of the overall plan to replace the CHA Madden/Wells housing development. The first plot is at 616 E Pershing Road, with the second parcel located at 552 E 38th Street. Both sites are currently vacant parcels. The Community Builders is the developer behind the project.

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the mixed-use development proposed at 210 N Aberdeen Street in the West Loop. Consisting of an irregularly-shaped site, the property consists of an empty lot at the intersection of W Lake Street and N Aberdeen Street, the historic Arthur Harris Building along N Aberdeen Street located in the Fulton-Randolph Market Historic District, and a few one-story masonry buildings behind Arthur Harris fronting N May Street. Plan Commission Approves Mixed-Use Development at 1150 W Lake Street in West Loop

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the updated mixed-use development proposal at 1150 W Lake Street in the West Loop. Flanking W Lake Street the project scope includes two properties. The southern property is L-shaped and bound by W Lake Street, N May Street, W Randolph Street, and N Racine Avenue, with two buildings at the corner of W Randolph Street and N Racine Avenue not included in this parcel. The northern lot is bound by W Lake Street, N May Street, N Racine Avenue, and a public alley. Formerly the site of Amylu Foods, the new construction will demolish existing buildings on the southern portion and replace the vacant lot within the northern portion. LG Development Group is the developer behind the proposal.

Fronting S Michigan Avenue, the project site is an infill site between E 9th Street and E 11 Street. Currently a stalled construction site, the development already has caissons in the ground. The Community Development Commission has approved a ground lease for the Boys and Girls Club of Chicago at 4433 W Chicago Avenue in Humboldt Park. Located along W Chicago Avenue, the property is midblock between N Kostner Avenue and N Kilbourn Avenue. Measuring 30,000 square feet, the site is within the 30-acre Joint Public Safety Training Academy. The Boys and Girls Club of Chicago are behind the proposal.
