In 2019, Moody Bible Institute initiated a plan to sell 10 acres of real estate near its main campus in Near North Side. Having been to JDL to make way for the new North Union megadevelopment, the offloading of these properties resulted in roughly $200 million in net proceeds. These proceeds are now being channeled into campus improvements, new infrastructure, long-term reserves, and educational endowments.
The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the rezoning of an existing residential building at 141 W Oak Street in the Near North Side. Developer Morningside South Affordable LLC will lead the renovation of the existing structure now that rezoning has been approved. Bound by W Oak Street to the north, N LaSalle Drive to the east, and N Wells Street to the west, the white clad tower will see all of its existing units rehabbed in preparation of future leasing.

Generally bounded by the CTA Brown Line tracks and W Oak Street, W Chestnut Street, and N Wells Street, the North Union site will spread across eight acres. Planned by JDL Development, the project site is currently occupied by one- or two-story buildings, parking lots, and an athletic field, all part of the Moody Bible Institute campus. The entire plan reserves 9.4 acres for Moody Bible Institute while turning over the remaining 8.1 acres over to JDL.

Generally bounded by the CTA Brown Line tracks and W Oak Street, W Chestnut Street, and N Wells Street, the North Union site will span eight acres. Consisting of 15 buildings across the entire property, the design team includes Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture, Goettsch Partners, Latent Design, and Omni Workshop.
